Installation Steps

Preparation:

Before you begin, gather the following tools: a measuring tape, a sharp utility knife or craft blade, a squeegee or soft cloth, and a ruler.

Step 1. Measure and Cut: Using the grid lines on the back of the paper as a guide, cut your piece to the required size, ensuring you have accounted for the extra overlap.

Step 2. Peel and Position: Peel back approximately two to three inches of the backing paper to expose the adhesive. Carefully align the edge of the granite paper with the edge of your surface.

Step 3. Apply and Smooth: Slowly press the exposed adhesive onto the surface. Using a squeegee or a soft, dry cloth, apply firm, even pressure from the center outward to push out any air bubbles as you gradually peel away the rest of the backing.

Step 4. Manage Corners and Edges: For edges and corners, use a hair dryer on a low heat setting to gently warm the vinyl. This makes it more pliable, allowing you to wrap it smoothly around edges for a seamless, professional finish.

Step 5. Final Trimming: Once the entire piece is applied, use your sharp utility knife and a ruler to carefully trim away the excess material along the edges for a clean, crisp look.

Pro-Tips for a Perfect Result

Preventing Bubbles: If you encounter an air bubble, do not panic. Simply lift that section of the paper and smooth it down again. For stubborn, tiny bubbles, use a fine needle to gently pierce the surface and press the air out.

Overlapping: If your surface is wider than the 24-inch roll, slightly overlap the edges of two pieces. Matching the granite pattern at the seam will make the join nearly invisible.
